Delete your account
You can delete your CareerHiKe account and its data at any time. Deleting your account is also how you withdraw your consent to us processing your personal data.
Delete individual items, without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. Each of these is done in the app, takes effect immediately, and leaves the rest of your account untouched.
- A resume — History → Resumes → tap the ⋮ menu on a resume → Delete. This removes the stored file and its analysis.
- A job description — History → Job descriptions → tap the delete icon on the one you want removed.
- An interview and its evaluation — History → open the interview → the ⋮ menu → Delete interview.
- A career guidance report — History → Career plans → open the report → the ⋮ menu → Delete.
- Your profile photo — Profile → Edit → Remove photo.
- Your name or professional links — Profile → Edit → clear the field and save.
Each of these asks you to confirm first, and the deletion is immediate — there is no request to send and no waiting period. To remove everything at once, use the options below.
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app
- Open CareerHiKe and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are removed immediately.
Instant. No request, no waiting period.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to the account, uninstalled the app, or changed device — email support@careerhikeai.com from the address you registered with, asking us to delete your account.
Send it from the registered address where you can. If you cannot, tell us the address on the account and we will verify ownership before deleting anything — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because that would itself be a way to attack someone.
We acknowledge and respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, from our active systems:
- Your account and profile — email, name, target role, experience level, profile photo and professional links
- Every resume you uploaded, including the stored files themselves
- Every job description you saved
- Your mock interviews, your answers, and the scores and feedback on them
- Your resume-to-job match reports
- Your career guidance reports and career journal
- Your coach sessions and the records of when they ran
- Your learning progress, streaks and achievements
- Your credit balance and its transaction history
- Your notification preferences and the push tokens for your devices
- Your record of accepting the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
This is a real deletion of the underlying records, not a flag that hides them. Your data is not recoverable afterwards, and a deleted account is never restored from a backup.
What may be retained, and why
- Encrypted backups. Residual copies may persist inside existing backups until those backups age out on their normal retention cycle. They are never used to restore a deleted account.
- Records we are legally required to keep, or that are necessary to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements — for example transaction records where tax or accounting law requires them.
- A one-way record of a past introductory credit grant. CareerHiKe no longer issues introductory credits, so nothing is added to this record any more; the existing entries are kept as an accounting trail. It holds no email address, no name and no device identifier — only an irreversible hash — and cannot be used to identify you, contact you, or rebuild your account.
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you.
